Over 1 Million Students Participate in the 2023 National High School Graduation Examinations

A total of 250,000 staff have been mobilised in order to organise and invigilate the exams taking place across the country this year.
During the morning students do a test on Vietnamese literature and language for 120 minutes, followed by a 90-minute math test held in the afternoon.

The weather is favourable for students in Ho Chi Minh City ahead of their examination. The high school graduation exam is considered to be the most important event in a student’s life time after they complete 12 years in education.
The number of examination sites this year stands at 2,273, with the number of examination rooms for test takers at a whopping 44,661.
Students arrive early to an exam venue in the central province of Ha Tinh in order to prepare for the important graduation examinations.
This year’s candidates are due to take three compulsory independent tests in mathematics, literature, and foreign languages, as well as one of two optional combined tests in natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) and social sciences (history, geography, and civic education).

Commemoration of Brave Martyrs Honored at Candle-lighting Ceremony

Many people who are relatives of martyrs resting in peace at the Hanoi Martyrs’ Cemetery carry offerings to the dead. Vietnam has 9,637 works specifically dedicated to martyrs, including 1,750 memorials, 4,810 stele houses, and 3,077 martyrs’ cemeteries. The Hanoi Martyrs’ Cemetery is home to 2,188 martyrs who were born in the capital but laid down their lives in different battles across the country. Their remains were gathered and reburied here. The candle lighting ceremony is part of activities taking place across the country to mark the 76th War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day.
